Oil Tank Inspections

  • Notification of the installation/ removal of an oil tank must be made to this office PRIOR to the actual installation. Only a licensed technician may install/ replace your tank.

  • In the event of replacement/ removal the tank must be inspected prior to its being removed from the premises. All salvage permits must be filed at this time also.

  • It is the responsibility of the homeowner or the installer to make an appointment with this department for an inspection.

  • Inspections are NOT done the same day an appointment is made.

  • The fee for an installation/ removal inspection is listed in the fee schedule.

  • Home Fire Alarm/CO Detector systems and Oil Burner/Tank inspections in NEW homes are done at the same time.

  • In the event your oil tank fails inspection, you must go through the entire process again.

  • Please consider that we are very often out of the office doing commercial or residential inspections. If you phone and it goes to voice mail, kindly leave a message, as we will be sure to call you back as expeditiously as possible.
