Hazardous Materials Information
Simply put, a hazardous material is any substance capable of causing harm to people, property, and/or the environment. A Haz-Mat incident involves the actual or potential release of hazardous materials. Hazardous materials include: explosives, gasses (compressed, liquified, or dissolved), flammable liquids, flammable solids, oxidizers, poisonous and infectious substances, radio actives, and corrosives. Hazardous materials may be found in the home, the work place, and in all types of transportation.
