Annual Open Burning Permits
- Burning permits are issued from January 15th to April 30th.
- Permits are obtained from the Plainville Fire Department at 157 South Street.
Office hours are 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m..
- Permits are payable by cash, check or money order (made out to the Town of Plainville).
- Activation of permit is on a day-to-day basis. Call 508-695-3156 to find out if burning is being
allowed that particular day. Failure to call is grounds for revocation of the permit.
- Burning hours are 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. daily depending on weather conditions.
No fire shall be started after 2:00 p.m. and all fires must be extinguished by 4:00 p.m..
- Burning must be conducted no less than 75 feet from any building at a location nearest the source of material to be burned.
- Permits will list the applicable rules & regulations.
